Inspired IKEA: My Top 10 Picks

Monday, November 26, 2012

IKEA is all around us! The giant Swedish chain is so accessible, affordable and has so locations across the globe, that most of us think we know all they have to offer. And while they do still have many of the staples we had in our first apartment or dorm room, lately they have upped the ante with lots chic design steals too! I love to mix IKEA with higher end pieces for a really collected look, so when The Honeycombers asked me to put together my most inspired picks I was thrilled! Just visit here or read below for my Top 10 . . .

Docksta Dining Table $199. One of my favorite mod yet classic pieces! Pair it with antique or vintage chairs for an unexpected and eclectic dining or study area.

Byholma Armchair $94.99. I love this armchair indoors or out. The woven pattern is so natural and pretty, it reminds us of the French countryside. You could also add a colorful printed pillow as a bold accent!

Songe Mirror $49.99. Mirrors help reflect natural light and make a space feel more airy, and this beautiful silver frame is just glam enough but still understated. Don't forget to use some round pieces in your space, it's a wonderful balance to traditional sharp corners.

Ljusas Ysby Lamp $99.99 People are always surprised this lovely glass lamp is IKEA! The warm gray color works with so many color palettes and we love how it's just a bit translucent.

Tarnby Jute Rug $99.99-149. Natural jute rugs work perfectly here in the tropics! The natural texture feels wonderful under foot and these rugs are also great for layering, try adding a small colorful wool throw rug on top for a global, well travelled looking interior.

Stockholm Coffee Table $199. The modern lines and warm wood finish of this table look right out of 1950's Scandinavia! The taped legs are elegant in shape and the shelf underneath is an added bonus for extra storage.

Forsa Work Lamp $29.99. This timeless lamp is perfect for a desk top or bedside table. Its glossy chrome finish and heavy, weighted base give it a surprisingly luxe feel.

Hemnes Glass Cabinet $325. With loads of storage and simple glass paneled doors, I love this slim cabinet in an office, living room, or even a bathroom. Mixing vases, small frames, and vintage glasses in with the storage can also help make this piece feel like custom shelving.

Dalfred Stool $39.99. Industrial chic interiors are so on trend lately and these adjustable bar stools really look the part! They work beautifully here in a kitchen for extra seating but also could be great as a small side table or next to a club chair.

Ribba Frames $9.99 - 24.99. Perfect for creating a gallery wall of art or family snapshots, these frames come in lots of sizes and are such a steal compared to custom framing! Don't be shy to mix different sizes and finishes, a variety of frames creates lots of visual interest.

I just love that no matter where on the globe you live, you can get these pieces!
What's your favorite pick?
